Santiago Sánchez Cogedor

Santiago Sánchez Cogedor became a symbol of resilience and solidarity after being unjustly imprisoned in Iran for 15 months. Born in Madrid in 1981, he describes himself as "an adventurer, athlete, and dreamer."

While in prison, he organized football, volleyball, and chess tournaments, taught Spanish to the inmates, and learned to speak Persian, the local language. He also established a significant connection with other prisoners, who appreciated his positive spirit and cheerful demeanor despite the circumstances.

Now free, Santiago is dedicated to sharing his experience, advocating for human rights, and demonstrating his unbreakable spirit of help and hope.
