América Valenzuela

Madrid, 1977

América Valenzuela is a chemist and journalist. Her insatiable need to find out every tiny detail about how the world works led her to study Chemistry, and her desire to tell people about it steered her towards a career in journalism and science communication. She has spent half a lifetime writing for newspapers such as El Mundo, El Correo and El Independiente, speaking on radio stations RNE and Onda Cero, appearing on TV channels Canal24, La Sexta and Movistar, and presenting events related to science, the environment and health. She is a great lover of armchair travelling, the natural world and the looks of wonder on people's faces when they've just learnt something amazing. She is the creator of the programme 'Science cubed' on radio station RTVE.
